San Diego, The Journey Here

We left Prescott bright and early. Well, it's not very bright at 6 AM.

After 30 minutes, we encountered an area of curves. It lasts about 45 minutes. Two years ago when we went to Los Angeles, I almost lost my breakfast on these curves. Emily almost did too. As a precaution, we did not eat breakfast. David ate and we fed Noah a bottle and hit the road.

Unfortunately, Noah didn't handle the curves so well and he lost his breakfast which now looked like cottage cheese. We had to pull over and air out the car and change Noah. But, it was just a little hitch. Thank God for baby wipes!

The car was packed.

Noah was pretty happy after the puking incident. He actually didn't fuss or anything the entire trip.

We drove by the sand dunes.

I had googled a park, so we stopped and had sandwiches and the kids got to run around and play for an hour. So much better than an germ infested McDonald's playhouse.

Emily and Grampie also fed the ducks.

We arrived in 7 1/2 hours and that's with an hour stop. Not bad timing. The house is lovely and Ben was in love with the hammock on the third floor balcony.

And what kid doesn't love bunk beds.

David's sister and her family arrived a few hours after we got here.
We've had a snack and unpacked. These 2 cousins (Noah is 2 months older) have some catching up to do.

Next on the agenda....THE BEACH!

That's quite a journey with little ones!! Way to go! Glad everything went relatively well. It's funny you mention car sickness - I experienced some of that this trip to Toronto - not enough to actually get sick, but to feel pretty awful most of the drive like I was going to. I blamed it on the bouncy van and Jim's driving of stopping fast, taking fast turns, etc. :P
