Gwynne's sister, Auntie Barb and her husband Francois, live in Halifax. They went to pick up their grandkids in Toronto to bring them to this family get together here in PEI. She was so nice and opened her home to us. It felt so great to wake up in a home and not a hotel.
The kids made themselves at home with giant mugs of coffee.
Emily took my camera and took that photo of Ben and others around their backyard.
She took some photos of flowers.
I think she may have potential.
Then another of Gwynne's siblings, Uncle Terry and his wife, Aunt Paula, showed up. The kids love them.
Then came the 3 to 4 hour drive to Prince Edward Island. We got to drive over the 8 mile long Confederation Bridge. Very cool.
Things are different here. The plants are different. The crops are different. Even the roadkill is different. Gwynne says this is a mustard field.
We stopped at a park to let the monkey's run around.
Here are the 13 flags representing Canada and Gwynne at the picnic table.
After such long days, the kids wanted to go to the beach. There was only about an hour of sunlight left, but we couldn't say no.
Before we came, we were talking with friends how we wouldn't be able to see the sunset over the ocean since we'd be on the East Coast. However, we are on an island, and we can still see the sunset over the ocean. Sweet! Because you know I won't be up for a sunrise!
Emily was beyond excited.
They got their first feel of the Atlantic Ocean!
Noah was brave at first.
Yep, she's excited.
It's hard to get a picture of Ben as he doesn't stop running at the beach, or anywhere really.
He's not happy when I try to have him hold still for a photo.
David's on a misson to take photos of me on this trip. I'm usually not even in 1 picture, so here I am.
The water was so warm. It felt great, but Noah liked to be held.
Emily was in her element.
Ben was pretty happy too.
Noah was unsure.
The love of my life walking on the beach.
More fun beach pics...
My girl is so sweet.
My little man finally went in alone.
All the other relatives show up tomorrow afternoon.
We plan to spend the morning at the beach playing in the sand.
Sounds perfect.
