Vacation, Day 12

Today was chilly, a bit breeze and cloudy. We spent the entire day relaxing with family, we ran to the store and went for gelato. I didn't take a single picture. It was lovely.

Vacation, Day 11

We slept in today. It felt great. I slept the latest and the kids were playing Legos when I came down.


Then, Aunt Paula made pancakes and the kids helped. Well, not Ben, he could care less about that sort of thing.


Look who was up in the garden eating raspberries! These are the neighbors bushes, but the come into their yard and the neighbor doesn't mind them eating whatever they want. They have more than they can eat. Well, there is enough for humans, the deer need to find their own food source.


We had to toss a rock at it because he will eat the entire raspberry bushes if allowed. Noah was more than happy to chuck a rock. His aim was way off, but Aunt Paula got him on the rump and he ran off. Only to come back a few hours later.


It was supposed to rain all day, but by noonish, it cleared. We went to feed the ducks.


The kids thought that it was fun. Until a few geese squawked at us. Then, Em and Ben went and hid behind me.


We gathered quite a crowd.


The kids bench jumped down the pier.






Then, we got gelato! YUM!


This is what it looks like, but they have 3 cases full of different flavors.


We found a playground.


And there was a giant xylophone to play.


Aunt Paula and Uncle Terry made us a delicious Thanksgiving dinner feast! So, while they were finishing up with all of that, we took off for the beach. Emily was looking for beach glass and cousin Amy is a pro finding it. We collected quite a bit tonight, so we'll have to make something out of it when we get home. I'm pinning ideas already.


Ben did what he does best...run.

Then, Noah wanted to take a few pictures. Most were blurry or of rocks or someones foot, but I liked this one of David looking for beach glass.


Then, we had a feast! I think we are headed to a different beach tomorrow, but we'll see. I love taking such long vacations. By this point, we are really in relax mode.

Vacation, Day 10

We woke up today early. We wanted to hit the road and get to the ferry. Aunt Paula warned us that Friday afternoons the ferry is super busy, so we were trying to beat the crowd. This is what my boys looked like this morning.


The drive today was GORGEOUS, as all the drives we've done here.


I had a stop at some waterfall planned, but we were making good time and the kids were quiet, so we pushed on. We made it to the ferry at 11:40 and luckily, there was still room for us! Yea! We made some sandwiches in the car, drove on the boat and headed to the top to soak up the view. I'm always so happy to get to this spot.









I will live by the ocean one day. Mark my words. I told Emily, I could live on this little island, so she took a picture of it.


Noah got angry because Ben was taking pictures and thought he was Spiderman and Noah wants to be Spiderman. He wasn't happy.

I made Noah throw his frowny face in the ocean and replace it with his smile.


The kids think it's fun to take pictures with my camera, so here's another attempt.


We surprised Uncle Terry and Aunt Paula by being early. Emily and Noah helped Aunt Paula make banana bread.



Noah actually ate broccoli!


We headed to the beach by their house. Noah thought this shell was really cool.


I told him to turn it over as it was a crab. And when he did and saw it, he freaked out!


The kids enjoyed the water and the beach.

Then, we went crab hunting.






Noah liked the crab. Until he touched it and it moved. Then, he freaked out.

The flowers here are just gorgeous. Look at these hydrangeas I think.


Actually, I think I took a similar picture last year. There is ivy growing on the tree trunks, it's just beautiful. Well, I could do without the bear scat in the road next door. Yikes! We ate blackberries off the bushes growing wild on the walk to the beach. I love it!

Tomorrow, is supposed to be rainy which is fine. We need a nice down day, but I imagine we'll find plenty to do!
