Noodle Pretzel

By the end of last summer, Noah could swim 10-15 feet without floaties. This summer, he is terrified at the idea of even taking them off. To help him get used to swimming again with no floaties, we gave him the pool noodle. Then, David got clever and tied it around him and he's closely supervised. So far so good.

That's my normal look in the pool - I use 3 noodles to float around! :D

I'd say just give him time, remember Sarah was 7 when she learned to swim and yet she talked in full sentences at only 1 year old, and did a hundred other things earlier... everyone's just different on the timing and then there's me - who doesn't swim and uses noodles.

Love it! Actually at Rachel and Greg's swim class they had a whole group of little kids about Noah's size using the noodles the same way. Seemed to work for them as well.

Bryce and Noah need to swap some of their pool feelings so they have just the right mix of fear and bravado :p Bryce's swim teachers have to keep a close eye on him because he is known for launching himself towards them to "swim" whether they are looking at him or not :/ Kid loves the water and has no fear! He trusts that they will pull him up if he starts to sink. I will be very glad when he can stay afloat for more than a few minutes at a time
