Last Days in Orlando

Our last full day in Orlando was one of our best yet. We went to Wet and Wild, a waterpark, in the morning. David's sister's family joined us. David and Alisa used to work there when they were teenagers and during summers in between college. Their boss still works there and they got to see him and catch up a little.

After some rest back at our condo, we got ready and went to a surprise retirement party for David's Mom. She is retiring this week. Gwynne works with a great group of women and they hosted quite a party. Gwynne was very surprised.

The kids got to go swimming in the pool.

And these two boys were up to no good.

Look at him, he's totally guilty of mischief.

We had an amazing dinner and yummy cake.

Then it was time for presents and stories. My father in law described Gwynne perfectly as humble and wise. She is very humble and often under values herself and how much she has meant to the school district where she works. Her boss, Betsy, told us all about the day they met Gwynne and how important she has been to them and all the children she has helped.

We laughed...

and laughed...

and laughed at all the stories.

And I think we all shed a few tears too. It was a beautiful night honoring a beautiful woman and all that she has accomplished. I'm thrilled that we were able to be there to share this special night.

It was the perfect ending to a perfect week.
And having our plane arrive 40 minutes early and our luggage waiting for us at baggage claim was the cherry on top of the sundae. We all can't wait to go back to Orlando. Well, my hair is begging me to never return to that humidity again, but I'll have to put it in it's place. A bun.
